The landowners sell fishing cards for most of the river. Price for a day card varies from 50,-NOK to 400,- NOK. Disinfecting can be done by most of the salesmen 100,-NOK to 400,- NOK.

Fishingrules for the Beiarelva river, summer 2007

 

-          Fishing for salmon, seatrout and seachar is only allowed in the following period: 16 of June - 31 of August.  The river is closed for fishing between 24.00 and 06.00 exept for the first night and night to 03 of August.

-          There will also be allowed fishing for seatrout and seachar between 1 of September and 14 of September.

            Killing of wild salmon will not be allowed in this period.

-             Minimum size: for salmon is 35 cm, for seatrout and seachar minimum size is 30 cm.           

Note:              Limitations

- Only two(2) salmons pr fisherman pr day.

- Only three(3) salmons pr fisherman pr week.

- Only 5 salmons pr fisherman during the period.

- Only six (6) seatrout and seachar pr day.

     Killed fish is to be reported on the fishing card immediately. Registration of fish    will be done for the entire river with tributerivers several times during the season.

-            Fishing with wormbait, fly, spinner, wobbler and spoonbait/lur is allowed in the Beiarelva river with tributerivers, except after 1 of September above Storjord bridge, where wormbait is not allowed to use. It is forbidden to use bait for electronic fishing.   When fishing with wormbait, the fisherman must change to another legal bait after the quota limitations is reached.   It is allowed with one rod pr. Fisherman and the rod is not to be left during fishing.

 

-          If the captured salmon can be surely identified as breeding salmon, it can be killed independently of quota limitations during the entire season. For all breeding salmons captured and killed, shell-samples must be taken and the breeding salmon must be shown to the card-salesman for control.

 

-            Movement during fishing is mandatory.

 

-         Every fish released back into the river has to be reported on the fishing card.

 

-          It is not allowed to fish in the protection area by the salmon stairs in the Tollåga river and the Høgforsen waterfall (50 m above and 50 m below)(according to §9 in the fishingrules for Nordland county)

 

-          All fishing equipment including boots and wading boots must be desinfected before permission will be granted  to fish in the Beiarelva river and tributerivers, without regard to where the equipment have been used before, this rule also apply to boats.

 

-          Fish that will be put back in the river, must be carefully put out to avoid deadliness.
